Friday Night at the NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS -- Three individual and a relay team will be swimming for Tennessee in consolation finals Friday night at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at IU Natatorium.

Freshman Meghan Small is in her second night race of the meet, the 400-yard individual medley; sophomore Madeline Banic will race the consolation heat of the 100 butterfly; and senior Kira Toussaint is in the consolation of the 100 backstroke. The 200 medley relay team also advanced.

400 IM

Who's Swimming Tonight?
Consolation Final: Meghan Small (4:04.93)

Meghan Small is into her second consolation final of the meet, having finished ninth in the 200 IM on Thursday. She swam the 13th-fastest time in the 400 IM in 3:07.73, less than two seconds out of making the top eight. Fellow freshman Tess Cieplucha also competed for the Vols in prelims, taking 42nd (4:14.47).

100 BUTTERFLY

Who's Swimming Tonight?
Consolation Final: Madeline Banic (52.10)

Madeline Banic is swimming in her second final of the event, clocking the 15th-fastest 100 butterfly time in 52.10. Senior Michelle Cefal was 49th (53.79).

100 BACKSTROKE

Who's Swimming Tonight?
Consolation Final: Kira Toussaint (51.54)

Kira Toussaint tied with the 12th-fastest -- and season best -- preliminary time of 51.54 to reach the consolation finals. Junior Micah Bohon was 31st in 52.72.

200 MEDLEY RELAY

Who's Swimming Tonight?
Consolation Final: Tennessee (1:36.42)

Tennessee's team of Kira Toussaint, Coleen Callahan, Madeline Banic and Erika Brown swam the 11th-fastest time in the 200 medley relay in 1:36.42.
