Lamp Set for World Diving Trials

May 15, 2013

Junior Tori Lamp is set to compete in the 2013 World Championship Diving Trials starting Thursday in Tallahassee, Fla.

Lamp, the CSCAA National Diver of the Year, is once again competing on the platform. The preliminaries start Thursday at 12:30 a.m. with the semifinals later in the afternoon and the finals on Sunday.

The top two divers with the highest combined score from the three rounds will be selected to represent Team USA at the World Championships in Barcelona, Spain, this summer.

The meet also serves as qualifying for the World University Games squad. The top two collegiate divers in each event will make the U.S. team.

This week marks Lamp's second on the outdoor diving towers in Florida. Lamp competed for the United States in the FINA USA Grand Prix last week in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., placing 12th on the platform in the preliminaries.
