Hannis, Lehane Make Finals on Day 2

INDIANAPOLIS -- Molly Hannis and Sean Lehane both took eighth place finishes in their respective races Wednesday on the second evening of the U.S. World Championship Trials.

Continuing her top-form summer, Hannis became the first Tennessee swimmer of the week to reach an A final. She took eighth in the 200-meter breaststroke in 2 minutes, 31.17 seconds.

Later in the evening, Lehane excelled in his top event, getting No. 8 in the 200 backstroke in 2:00.10.

All told, it was a strong day for the Vols, with six swimmers getting top-16 finishes. In addition to Hannis and Lehane, top swimmers included: Sam Rairden (9th, 50 butterfly, 24.15); Lindsay Gendron (10th, 200 freestyle - 1:59.54); Kelsey Floyd (11th, 50 butterfly - 27.31); and Michelle Cefal (14th, 50 butterfly - 27.71).
