Swimming & Diving Releases 2014-15 Schedule

July 17, 2014

Tennessee released its swimming and diving schedule for the 2014-15 season on Thursday.

The schedule includes six home events at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center, highlighted by three meets against SEC opponents and a three-day diving invitational.

NOTES FROM HOME
As usual, Tennessee opens the home schedule with the Orange and White Intrasquad Meet on Oct. 15.

UT plays host to Indiana and Kentucky in a near-annual double dual meet on Oct. 31. On Nov. 14, Tennessee welcomes Louisville and Auburn to AJIAC for what will be a contest between three schools that all finished in the top 15 at the 2014 NCAA men's and women's championships.

The Tennessee Diving Invitational is back to start the new year Jan. 3-5.

Tennessee's senior day will be Jan. 24 with Georgia coming to town. It is the final home regular-season meet. UT will also host a Last Chance Meet on March 2-3, which serves as a last opportunity to swim qualifying times for the NCAA championships.

NORTH CAROLINA BOUND
The state of North Carolina will practically become home waters for Tennessee during the fall season with UT scheduled for five events there during the semester.

The team opens the year early with its annual training trip on the beaches near Wilmington, N.C. During that stay, Tennessee swims against UNC-Wilmington in a dual meet on Sept. 26 and competes against the Seahawks the next day in a distance open water race in the ocean.

UT makes a trip back to North Carolina in October with competitions against Queens (Oct. 9) and North Carolina (Oct. 10). In November, Tennessee will return to the Tarheels' pool to wrap up the fall schedule with the Nike Cup, one of the most competitive fall college meets.

POSTSEASON SCHEDULE
Auburn hosts the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships this season (Feb. 17-21).

The NCAA Zone B Diving Championships, a regional meet for divers to advance to nationals, is returning to Georgia from March 11-13.

The men's and women's NCAA championships will be held in separate cities again this year. The women's championships are March 19-21 in Greensboro, N.C., and the men's championship is March 26-28 in Greensboro, N.C.
