KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center will be the center of attention for junior divers starting on Friday, as the facility is set to host the 2011 Junior & Age Group National Diving Championships.
The age group competition will take place July 29-31, while the junior nationals will span from Aug. 1-6. Fans can purchase tickets for $7 a day or buy an all session pass for $33.
Prelims for both the age group and junior nationals will begin at 9 a.m. The finals will begin at 5:15 p.m. for the age group and vary between 4:15-4:45 p.m. for the junior nationals.
Olympian Greg Louganis is also scheduled to make an appearance at the event.
The AJIAC was completed in April of 2008 and features five platforms of varying heights from one to 10 meters. The facility is located adjacent to the existing Student Aquatic Center and served as the host to the 2011 NCAA DIII Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships and will host the 2012 SEC Championships.
