DUBAI -- Freshman Luke Percy ended his impressive run at the FINA World Junior Championships with a silver medal in the 100-meter freestyle.
Percy collected his fourth medal of the meet by finishing second in the long-course sprint in 49.06 seconds.
During the six-day meet, Percy won four medals -- three of them gold -- and contributed to three record-setting performances. He won the 50 freestyle, setting a meet record during the semifinals. He also swam legs on the winning 400 freestyle and 400 mixed medley teams.
Another UT freshman, David Heron, had to wait until the last day of the meet before his lone race, but he put together a good performance when he finally got off the blocks. He took sixth in the 1,500 freestyle in 15:22.81.
The two freshmen will now return to Knoxville. The first UT competition of the year is the traditional dual meet and open water race at UNC-Wilmington on Sept. 27 and 28.
