Previewing the Men's Competition
Tennessee: 3-2 (1-0 SEC)
Kentucky: 1-4 (0-2 SEC)

The Vols' Last Event: The Vols lost 176.5-123.5 to Ohio State at home last week. Sophomore Tristan Slater again led the way again by winning the 200 breaststroke and 200 IM for the Vols. Freshman Sean Lehane enjoyed his first career two-win day by sweeping first the 100 and 200 backstroke. Mauricio Robles won the 1-meter springboard in a career-best score of 361.43.

Last Year's Tennessee Invitational: The Vols finished third at last year's Tennessee Invitational, behind Louisville and LSU and ahead of Kentucky and Southern Illinois. Mauricio Robles had a historic performance in his first collegiate diving competition on the tower, becoming the second UT diver to crack 400 points on the platform. Tristan Slater picked up his first collegiate win in the 400 IM and Ricky Henahan won the 100 backstroke.

In the Rankings: The Vols are the only ranked team in the field at No. 13

The Lady Vols' Last Event: The Lady Vols stayed perfect on the season with a 191-109 victory over Ohio State last week, winning 15-of-16 events in the process. Lindsay Gendron, who was named SEC Swimmer of the Week, won three events for the third meet in a row, taking first in the 200, 500 and 1000 freestyle events. She has top-10 times in the country in four freestyle events, including first in the 1650. Senior Kelsey Floyd picked up three victories for the second-consecutive week, touching the wall first in the 100 and 200 butterfly and the 200 IM. Faith Johnson swept the 50 and 100 freestyles and was honored as SEC Freshman of the Week for the first time.

Last Year's Tennessee Invitational: Last season, the Lady Vols finished second in the seven-team field at the Invitational. Texas A&M won the tournament. Lindsay Gendron provided the Lady Vols' lone individual win, taking first in the 200 freestyle. The morning preliminaries were conducted in long-course format so that swimmers could record Olympic Trial qualifying times.

In the Rankings: The Lady Vols are ranked eighth in the initial CSCAA Division I women's poll.
