AUSTIN, Texas -- While Tennessee is not sending its entire team to the AT&T Winter National Championships, the Vols will have a trio of representatives in Texas' pool this weekend.
Former SEC champion Brad Craig and backstroke standout Ricky Henahan, former Vols who still train with the team in Knoxville, and current volunteer assistant and Olympic gold medalist Davis Tarwater will be competing as part of Tennessee Aquatics. The three-day meet runs Thursday through Saturday.
Craig and Tarwater begin their prelims Thursday morning, with Craig swimming the 200-yard individual medley and Tarwater taking the blocks for the 50 freestyle.
The Tennessee competitors will be swimming three events each.
Craig, a back-to-back conference champion in the 100 breaststroke, is scheduled for the 200 IM and the more-familiar 100 and 200 breaststroke. The former Vol posted some of his best times two weeks ago at the Tennessee Invitational, swimming 53.54 in the 100 breaststroke and 1:57.04 in the 2000 breaststroke.
Henahan, who finished his four-year career at Tennessee in March, will swim the 100 and 200 backstroke and the 100 butterfly.
Tarwater is set for the 50 freestyle, the 100 butterfly and the 100 freestyle.
Among the other competitors in the field this weekend is former Lady Vol and Olympic silver medalist Christine Magnuson. She is competing in the 50 freestyle, the 100 butterfly and the 100 freestyle.
