Barbara is in her fourth season serving as Director of Operations for the Tennessee Track & Field program. Her primary responsibilities include team travel, oversight of equipment ordering and distribution, assistance of on-campus recruiting efforts, organization of administrative and logistical aspects of the program.
Prior to joining the track and field staff in July of 2012, she completed her graduate degree in Sport Management at the University of Tennessee serving as a graduate assistant at the Thornton Academic Center.
Barbara competed in track and cross country from 2007-2011 at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She received a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science.
Powers comes from a family entrenched in athletics, as her father Buddy has been a Division I college hockey coach for over 20 years and most recently a scout for the NHL's Dallas Stars. Her mother Lindy is a PGA teaching professional. She has two siblings, John and Caroline who both played golf in college and continue to pursue the sport in the professional ranks.
