Majors Wins 200 at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Tennessee track and field team closed out a rain-soaked second day of the 2014 Raleigh Relays on Saturday, highlighted by a win in the 200-meter dash by Lady Vol Felicia Brown.

Brown cruised to the 200 meter invitational title in 23.57 seconds, while Lady Vol freshman Felecia Majors crossed the line in fourth at 23.90. Emily Yarnell grabbed two fifth-place finishes in the 100 meter invite and 200 meter invite sections with marks of 11.82 and 24.15 respectively.

Allison Outerbridge jumped her way to a sixth place finish the Triple Jump with a mark of 12.17 meters (39 feet, 11.25 inches). Katherine Dresch rounded out field performances for the Lady Vols with a 40.86 meters (134-1) effort in the javelin, good for seventh place.

The women's 4x800 relay consisting of Brittney Jackson, Alexis Panisse, Amirah Johnson and Kianna Ruff was runner up in 8:46.27.

Senior Jarael Nelvis ended seventh in the 100 meter invite at 10.69 seconds.

Lucas Hadden needed 55.72 meters (182-10) to finish 11th in the javelin, while teammate Deon McAdoo matched his finish in the hammer throw, landing a 54.94 meter (180-3) mark. hammer throw.

Two Vols finished in the top five of the men's 10,000 meter run. Junior J.R. Creekmore was third in a lifetime best of 30:49.19. Senior Stephen Derlath was fifth finishing in 30:52.

The men's 4x800 meter relay squad of Jeremy Dickie, Nick Kaiser, Kyle Walter and Antonio Carter matched the women's runner-up finish with a mark of 7:36.73..

Next up for Big Orange will be a trip to Gainesville, Fla., for the 2014 Pepsi Florida Relays that will take place April 3-5 at Percy Beard Track.
