AUSTIN, Texas - The Vols and Lady Vols combined for 17 personal records and 17 top-10 finishes on Friday as the Tennessee track & field team split up to compete at the historic Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and Raleigh Relays.

Highlighting the action for the Vols was freshman pole vaulter Jake Blankenship. As he did in the indoor campaign, the rookie stepped it up when the competition was toughest. Blankenship posted a fourth-place finish at the 86th edition of the Texas Relays, clearing 18-feet, 4.75-inches (5.61m).

Just two meets into the season, that mark is an outdoor personal best and ranks third all-time in the Tennessee all-time outdoor performers list. Entering the weekend, that mark would be the No. 1 pole vault height in the nation. Ole Miss sophomore Sam Kendricks won the meet with a height of 19-0.75 (5.81m), setting a Mike A. Myers Stadium record.

Earlier in the meet, freshman thrower Kyle Quinn bested his lifetime best in the javelin throw. Quinn, who won the event at last week's MSU Conference Challenge, placed sixth with a mark of 219-feet, 1-inch (66.78m). The mark ranks the Somerset, Mass., native in the top 10 of the Vols all-time javelin throwers.

Freshman Lady Vol thrower Cassie Wertman led the way for the Big Orange women in Texas, picking up a fourth-place finish with a huge lifetime best push of 53-feet, 2.25-inches (16.21m). That mark ranks the rookie fourth on UT's all-time outdoor performance lists, and entering the weekend, it would sit seventh in the nation.

At the Raleigh Relays, the Lady Vols carded a trio of fourth-place finishes. Junior Aslynn Halvorson recorded a push of 46-3 (14.11m) in the shot put, while distance runners Amirah Johnson and Alexis Panisse both crossed the line in fourth in separate sections of the 1,500-meter. The running duo both earned lifetime bests in the event, as Johnson crossed the line in 4:31.85, while Panisse clocked in at 4:28.26.

Vol pole vaulter Michael Maira placed fifth in Raleigh, and junior Terrance Livingston notched a fourth-place mark in the 400-meter. Maria set an outdoor PR with a vault of 15-11 (4.85m), while Livingston crossed the tape in 47.09 seconds.

In the 5,000-meter at NC State, Vol Stephen Derlath recorded a PR to finish sixth (14:43.74), while Lady Vol Hannah Davidson finished eighth in the women's 5K (16:29.64).

Recent Lady Vol alum Chanelle Price, who was competing in Raleigh as an unattached athlete, took second place in the 1,500m (4:20.08) and fifth place in the 400m (55.05).

Final day action in the university and college sections at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays begins with the women's discus at 11 a.m. ET, while the Raleigh Relays get underway at 10 a.m. ET with the men's hammer throw.
