- Following a historic weekend to open the season in the Blazer Invitational where UT achieved two meet records, four wins, eighth historic marks/times, 17 top-eight finishes, and 18 athlete personal bests. Tennessee track and field travels to compete in the annual Virginia Tech Invitational this weekend in Blacksburg, Va.
- Rector Field House is home to one of the fastest tracks in the nation, a banked 200m Mondo-surfaced course. This year's field consists of 14 teams from around the region, with Friday action beginning at 5 p.m. and on Saturday at 11 a.m.
- Participants this year are: Campbell, Duke, East Carolina, Highpoint, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, NC State, Radford, South Carolina, St. Augustine, Tennessee, UNC-Charlotte, Virginia Tech, and William & Mary.
- Tennessee heads to the Virginia Tech Invitational, a place of great success for the Big Orange last season. UT came away with nine wins, 25 top-five finishes, and 57 top-tens in 2013. The Vols and Lady Vols look to build upon those accomplishments this weekend.
