Vols Jump to Eighth in Trackwire 25
Rocky Danners

Rocky Danners

March 6, 2003

After three weeks locked in at 12th, Tennessee leaped to eighth in the update of the Trackwire 25, with the NCAA Indoors less than two weeks away. The current rankings call for the Volunteers to score 21 points at the NCAA Indoors. The increase resulted in Jabari Greer's updated status in the 60m hurdles, after winning the event at the SEC Indoors last weekend. Trackwire projects Jabari Greer and Gary Kikaya to win the 60m hurdles and 400m dash at the NCAA meet, while Rocky Danners takes eighth in the pole vault.

rankings are based on NCAA event leader lists and a variety of other factors and are available on www.trackwire.com.

AA host Arkansas extended its lead in the rankings with 61 projected points after a strong SEC performance. Meanwhile, South Carolina (second, 39 points), Florida (third, 38 points), LSU (fifth, 25 points), Auburn (sixth, 24 points) and Tennessee (eighth, 21 points) give the SEC six of the top eight teams in the land. Nebraska (fourth, 31 points) and Stanford (seventh, 23 points) break up the SEC party.
