KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee's Academic Progress Rates (APR) were announced on Tuesday and the women’s track & field team posted a perfect 2011-12 APR of 1000 for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. In addition, the Lady Vols boast a multi-year APR score of 995.
The Academic Progress Rate, now in its ninth year, measures the eligibility and retention of scholarship student-athletes competing on every Division I athletics team, measuring progress toward degree while also serving as a predictor of graduation success. The most recent APR scores are based on a multi-year rate that averages scores from the most recent four-year period, encompassing the 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, and 2011-12 academic years.
The Lady Vols were just one of three SEC women’s track & field teams to record a perfect APR score in both the indoor and outdoor season in 2011-12. Tennessee’s 995 multi-year score ranked second in the league for both campaigns.
