The United States won the women's 4x400-meter relay Sunday on the final afternoon of the IAAF World Junior Championships at Oregon's Hayward Field.
The US team of Shamier Little (Texas A&M), Olivia Baker (Stanford), Shakima Wimbley (Miami) and Kendall Baisden (Texas) won the title in 3 minutes, 30.42 seconds. Great Britain took second and Germany was third.
Tennessee rising sophomore Felecia Majors ran the second leg of the relay in Saturday's prelims, doing her part to help USA clock the fastest prelim time (3:32.73) to advance.
Like Majors, Aaliyah Barnes (Ohio State) was a member of the preliminary team and was not in the finals.
The meet wraps up a strong summer of competition for Majors. She was fourth in the 400 meters at the USATF Junior Championships.
Tennessee track and field competitors return to global action Aug. 8-10 with the NACAC U23 Athletics Championships in Canada. Rising senior Tavis Bailey will compete in the discus throw and rising junior Jake Blankenship will be in the pole vault.
