KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee track and field program and the Knoxville Track Club released details Thursday for the 2014 Tennessee Relays presented by Sea Ray.
Tennessee's 48th-annual home track and field meet will run April 10-12 at Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.
The Tennessee Relays features one noticeable change this year: the meet will include high school events in addition to the usual college competition.
"We're excited to have Sea Ray continue as our event sponsor," Tennessee director of track and field/cross country J.J. Clark said. "We're also excited to have high school competition as part of the Tennessee Relays. It will be one of the premier events in the country."
The Knoxville Track Club, one of the nation's largest-running track & field clubs, is co-hosting the Tennessee Relays for the first time. The Volunteer Track Classic, the longstanding top-flight high school meet run by KTC, will become a part of the Tennessee Relays.
"We are excited to co-host the Tennessee Relays along with the University of Tennessee beginning in 2014," Knoxville Track Club executive director Bobby Glenn said. "We believe that this meet, continuing in Knoxville's great tradition of Track & Field, will become one of the premier events in the nation for both high school and collegiate athletes."
The Tennessee Relays presented by Sea Ray is one of two home outdoor meets for the Vols and Lady Vols next spring. UT is hosting the Tennessee Challenge on May 3.
