2007
Tennessee Baseball Summer Camps
Tennessee Baseball Day Camps
Dates: June 4-8; June 11-15; June 18-22
(Ages 7 to 12)
PURPOSE: Fundamentals of throwing, catching, running, hitting and the team concept will be stressed.
 

SCHEDULE: Camp runs from 9 a.m. - Noon for ages 7-9 and from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. for ages 10-12. Camp begins Monday and ends on Friday.

Each camper will participate in a game each day. Campers will be divided by age and ability during games and group instruction. Closing ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Friday for ages 7-9 and at 3 p.m. on Friday for ages 10-12. Both ceremonies will be held at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

 
REGISTRATION: Monday 8 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Pre-registration is preferred to help in team assignments and staffing. There will be an additional $10 fee for registration the day of camp.
   
MEALS: No meals for Half Day Campers
Lunch will be served to Full Day Campers.
   
COST: $175 for half day (ages 7-9)
$250 for full day (ages 10-12)
Skills - Showcase Camps
Dates: June 16-17, June 28-29; July 3-4
(Ages 7 to 2007 Seniors)
We have taken our highly popular Pitcher-Catcher-Hitter Camp format and added infield and outfield play to the morning session, with all players hitting in the afternoon session. The Showcase session is for players in the 10th grade and older to showcase their skills in a pro tryout format and game competition. The UT staff along with other college coaches will be working with the camp.

PURPOSE: Campers will go through two intensified morning sessions of instruction of pitching, catching, infield and outfield. All campers will go through hitting instruction in the afternoon. Individual instruction is featured with our 7 to 1 ratio for these camps.

 
SCHEDULE: Camp runs from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day. Showcase for 10th grade and older will be at 6 p.m. on the first day of camp for those players that signed up for the Showcase.
 

REGISTRATION: Overnight campers for June 15 check into Reese Hall from 6 - 7 p.m.
Overnight campers for June 27 and July 2 check into Apartment Residence Hall from 6 - 7 p.m.
Commuter campers will check in or register the morning of camp from 8 - 8:45 a.m. at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

There will be an additional $10 fee for registration the day of camp.

MEALS: Overnight campers will be provided with Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner on Day 1 and Breakfast/lunch on Day 2. Day campers will be provided with lunch each day.

Tennessee Baseball Overnight Camp
Dates: July 15-19
(Ages 10 to 2007 H.S. Graduates)

PURPOSE: This special week will teach fundamentals of throwing, catching, hitting and the team concept will be stressed. Two teaching sessions and one game per day.

SCHEDULE: Camp will start Sunday following registration. Camp will run from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Each camper will participate in a game each day. Campers will be divided by age and ability during games and group instruction. Closing ceremony will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
REGISTRATION: Sunday 3 - 5 p.m. at Gibbs Hall. There will be an additional $10 fee for registration the day of camp.
COST: $330 Commuters
$400 Overnight Campers

Tennessee Baseball Team Camps
Dates: June 24-27; July 8-11; July 11-14
(High School Age Teams Only)

PURPOSE: These camps are being offered as an opportunity for teams and their coaches to learn from and play in front of the Tennessee coaching staff. We accept eight teams (min. 14 players per team) for each camp.

 

REGISTRATION: June 24 from 3 - 4 p.m. at Apartment Residence Hall. July 8 or July 11 from 3 - 4 p.m. at Reese Hall. Camp will conclude for each team camp at 11 a.m.

COACHES: Please call Larry Simcox to sign your team up or to check on availablilty (865) 974-1261. A team camp packet will be send to you.
COST: $250 per player
Tennessee Baseball Select Camp
Dates: July 22-27
(High School Players Grade 9 - 2007 HS Graduates)

PURPOSE:The Select Camp is designed to teach advanced skills and strategies of baseball. This is a very intense week of baseball for the player who sincerely desires to learn and improve his skills through instruction, drills and competition in game situations. This special week of baseball is open to anyone who is presently an upcoming 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grader or 2007 graduate.

This camp will give you the opportunity to be taught and seen by the Tennessee coaching staff as well as several other coaches from major colleges and junior colleges. In past Select Camps several pro scouts have been in attendance to evaluate players who are participating in the camp. Players from more than 25 states have attended past Select Camps at Tennessee. Player to coach ratio for Select Camp is 8 to 1.

SCHEDULE: Camp will start Sunday following registration. Camp will run from 8:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. Closing ceremony will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
REGISTRATION:Sunday from 3 - 5 p.m. at Morrill Hall. There will be an additional $10 fee for registration the day of camp.
COST: $400 Commuters
$470 Overnight Campers
Tennessee Baseball Christmas Camps
Dates: Dec. 27-28 (Ages 7-12)
Dec. 29-30 (Ages 13-2008 HS Seniors)

Brochures for the Christmas Camps will be available on Oct. 1. Players who attend our summer camps will receive one by mail. If you are unable to attend summer camp and would like a free brochure, call the baseball office at 865-974-2057.

  • All payments must be made by check, cash or money order. Credit cards not accepted.

    REGISTRATION: All campers should pre-register using the application on this website. Confirmations will be sent out two weeks prior to the camp you registered for with additional information and a map. Walk-ups are welcome, but we prefer to have campers preregistered to aid in our check in, staffing and team assignments. There will be an additional $10 fee for registration the day of camp. Each player will receive a free camp t-shirt at registration.
    COSTS: A deposit of $50 for day campers and $100 for overnight campers must accompany the application form. Deposits are placed toward the total tuition, however a $50 administration fee will be charged for cancellations. On cancellations, your deposit will not be refunded. However, it will be forwarded to a future camp. We must receive in writing a request to forward your deposit to a future camp or receive a balance refund prior to August 31, 2007.
    REDUCED RATES: Attend any summer session at full price and you will qualify for a reduced rate for any additional summer sessions during the same summer that you wish to attend. You will receive a 10% reduction in price for the additional session that you are attending. Siblings also receive a 10% discount. UT employees receive a 10% discount. (Please send a photocopy of your ID with registration.)

    For groups of 5 or more campers a 10% discount is offered. For groups of 10 or more campers a 15% discount is offered. Groups MUST send all applications at one time and go through registration as a group. There will be no additions or deletions to groups after the applications are received.
    ACCOMMODATIONS: All overnight campers will be housed two to a room in an air-conditioned dormitory on campus. Campers will have coaches living on the halls with them and will be under constant supervision.
    INSURANCE/MEDICAL CARE: A package of insurance is provided by the camp and is included in the camp tuition fee. A doctor is on call and hospital and student health facilities are readily accessible. Because of the rigorous daily schedule each camper should come to camp in top physical condition. Every conceivable effort is made to protect your camper's health and safety through training of staff, constant inspections of equipment, and instruction of campers.
    CONDUCT: All serious violations, such as willful damage to the school's property or other behavior deemed detrimental to the group, will result in immediate dismissal. There will be NO refund of tuition upon expulsion or upon voluntary withdrawal from the camp.
    LOST KEYS: A key to the dormitory room will be issued to each camper. A fee of $30 will be charged for lost keys.
    TRANSPORTATION: Will be furnished to and from registration for anyone arriving or leaving Knoxville by bus or airplane. YOU MUST FAX OR MAIL TO US ONE WEEK PRIOR TO CAMP YOUR ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE INFORMATION.
    EQUIPMENT NEEDED: (Please put name on all baseball equipment)
  • Towels, pillows, and bed linens for single bed (blanket, etc.)
  • Practice gear, shorts, tennis shoes, shirts, hat, baseball pants
  • Toilet articles, Alarm Clock, Swimsuit
  • Spending money ($40 should be sufficient for overnight campers.)
  • Casual clothes (T-shirts, shorts for free time wear)
  • Batting gloves
  • Please don't wear sandals to the field (dorm only)
  • FACILITIES AND ACTIVITIES: There will be a 10 to 1 ratio of players to coaches. For our Skills-Showcase Camps the ratio is 7 to 1 and for Select Camp the ratio is 8 to 1. Camp is geared to provide the coaching, instruction, competition and facilities geared to rapid improvement through fundamental drills, hard work and intrasquad games. We include information on positive thinking, goal setting, and other skills designed to make a difference in fulfilling potential on and off the baseball field.
