2007 - SOPHOMORE
His 2007 performance was among the most impressive by a Vol on the year, as his strong finish gave him team-high honors in runs (53), home runs (9), RBIs (49) and walks (35) ... Five of his team-high nine homers came during the final three weeks of the season ... His .325 overall batting average included a .290 mark in SEC play, and his 74 overall hits ranked second on the team ... His 11 sacrifice bunts gave him 19 for his career, placing him second on UT's all-time list after only two seasons ... Was 10 for 12 on stolen-base attempts ... Finished the year with a career-best 12-game hit streak and recorded 17 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games on the year ... Named to SEBaseball.com's All-SEC second team ... Started all 54 games in which he played ... Hit .335 with 68 hits, 36 RBIs and three home runs ... Drew a team-high 26 walks and boasted a team-best .421 on-base percentage ... Was a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen-base attempts ... Had eight sacrifice bunts and also logged nine bunt singles ... Led the Vols with a .360 average in SEC play ... Finished his rookie campaign with the sixth-highest batting average among freshmen in the 17-year tenure of head coach Rod Delmonico (better than three previous Freshman All-America honorees during that span) ... Went 5-for-5 with two RBIs and one run as UT posted a 9-0 shutout over No. 21 LSU April 8 ... Recorded three hits vs. Florida April 15 ... Named SEC Freshman of the Week after batting .500 during the series vs. the Gators ... Went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs at Tennessee Tech April 18 ... Had two hits, one run and a stolen base April 23 at Georgia ... Had a tremendous day at the plate at 22nd-ranked Ole Miss April 29, going 4-for-5 with a three-run homer, three runs scored, a walk and a career-high five RBIs ... Smashed a three-run homer (his first while batting left handed) at 15th-ranked South Carolina May 13 ... Finished with a .912 fielding percentage ... Recorded 14 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games ... Hit .377 vs. left-handed pitching and .320 against right-handers.

HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated in three years from Farragut High School in Knoxville, Tenn. ... Was the 10th-ranked overall prospect at the 2004 East Coast Showcase in Wilmington, N.C. and was the only junior to be ranked ... Earned All-State and District MVP honors as a junior in 2005 while helping the Admirals to third-place finish in the state playoffs ... Played in just 19 games as a sophomore after suffering a broken thumb but hit .362 with 22 RBIs in limited action ... Farragut's 2004 team posted a 46-2 record, garnered a No. 3 national ranking and won its second consecutive state title... Competed at the 2004 TBCA Worth Showcase and was also a member of the 2004 Tennessee Junior Sunbelt Team ...
