2009 - JUNIOR
First-year Vol appeared in 19 games and made nine starts...Began the year as the Vols' third starter in the weekend rotation...Moved to bullpen after making his first six appearances as a starting pitcher...Fashioned a 5.16 ERA and a 4-3 record through 52 1/3 innings...Went 1-2 in three SEC starts...Also appeared eight times in relief in conference play...Earned a no decision in his Volunteer debut Feb. 24 against Austin Peay, allowing two runs on five hits with a walk and five strike outs...Picked up his first win March 3 vs. Radford after pitching five innings, giving up three run on nine hits with five strikeouts...Earned back-to-back wins against Ohio (March 8) and Auburn (March 15) after working five innings in each start and allowing only one run...Struggled at Florida on March 21, surrendering six runs on nine hits in 2 2/3 innings...His second loss of the season came against Georgia on March 28, when he allowed four runs on six hits in four innings...His next four appearances came out of the bullpen, spanning seven innings and including work against Charleston Southern (April 1), Alabama (April 3), Appalachian State (April 7) and Mississippi State (April 12)...Evened his record at 3-3 when he took the loss against Appalachian State, allowing three runs on three hits in 1 2/3 innings...Made his seventh start of the season and earned the win against Middle Tennessee on April 15 with three innings of work, giving up one run on three hits and striking out two...Earned a no-decision against ETSU on April 21 with 4 2/3 innings of work, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits...Worked 3 2/3 solid innings against Arkansas on April 24, giving up one run on four hits with three strikeouts...Allowed three runs (one earned) in 2/3 of an inning at Kentucky on May 3...Gave up only two earned runs in his final four appearances of the year including a start against MTSU on May 12...Shutout Vanderbilt in three innings of work over the last two games of the season...Spent his summer playing with the Florence RedWolves in the Coastal Plains League...Was dominant on the hill, putting together a 5-2 record and a miniscule 1.92 ERA in 10 appearances, including nine starts...Topped the league by holding opponents to a .169 batting average while twirling a 65 2/3 innings...Also ranked fourth in the league with a total of 68 strikeouts, while walking just 21 batters.

2007 - FRESHMAN
Helped lead YHC to the school's first-ever appearance in the NJCAA College World Series in Grand Junction, Colo....Hit .358 with 13 doubles, nine home runs and 65 RBIs as the Mountain Lions went 46-22...Also posted a 9-2 record on the mound with a 2.58 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 106 innings...Helped YHC win the Region XVII regular season and tournament titles, as well as the district championship...Named to the 2007 GJCAA All-Conference Team, earning first-team honors as both a pitcher and designated hitter...Also named to the GJCAA All-Tournament Team while being selected as Tournament MVP...Was a YHC teammate of fellow UT newcomer Michael Hornsby...Selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 50th round of the 2007 MLB draft (1,448th overall pick).
