KNOXVILLE -- Persistent rains in the Knoxville area prevented the Tennessee baseball team from taking the field for its scheduled doubleheader against 18th-ranked Mississippi State Sunday. The Southeastern Conference's Sunday curfew rule was brought into effect after a rain delay of more than three hours at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The official decision to cancel the day's action was made at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Mississippi State won the lone game of the series Friday night by a score of 4-3. The Vols are slated to return to action Tuesday at 7 p.m. when they host Furman at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
