Hokie-Smokey Cancelled; Vols Add WCU Wed.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Due to inclement weather, Tuesday night’s Hokie-Smokey Classic against Virginia Tech scheduled to be played at LewisGale Field in Salem, Va., has been cancelled. The Vols will now host Western Carolina at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET.

Admission to Wednesday’s game against the Catamounts (23-11) will be FREE.

A live video broadcast will also be available for free on UTSports.com/allaccess. John Wilkerson, “The Voice of Tennessee baseball” and Vince Ferrara will be on the call for the Vol Network. The broadcast can be heard live on WNML “The Sports Animal” at 99.1 FM and AM 990.

No make-up date for the Hokie-Smokey Classic has been announced.

Tennessee (23-11) returns to Southeastern Conference action this weekend, welcoming No. 8 Alabama (24-11, 10-5) to Knoxville for a three-game set from April 18-20. First pitch on Friday is slated for 6 p.m. ET. Tickets can be purchased 24 hours a day through UTTix.com.
