Pros Update (7/3): Davis Hit Parade

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Vols have twenty-four former players playing professional baseball at every level. One former Vol, Kentrail Davis, poured on the hits for the Huntsville Stars. Get the full breakdown of the VFLs in professional baseball right here.

R.A. Dickey - SP, Toronto Blue Jays

    Season: 6-7, 4.24 ERA, 17 G, 104.0 IP, 100 H, 57 R, 49 ER, 43 BB, 88 K
    R.A. Dickey fell to 6-7 with a 4.02 ERA after a 5-4 loss to the White Sox Friday afternoon (June 27). Dickey received the loss after throwing 6.0 innings allowing five earned runs on five hits, while striking out nine. He has suffered back-to-back-to-back losses by one run.

    Yan Gomes - C, Cleveland Indians

    Season: .267, 72 G, 34 R, 69 H, 11 2B, 1 3B, 9 HR, 30 RBIs
    Yan Gomes appeared in five games this week (June 26-July 2) for the Cleveland Indians. Gomes went 4-for-19 with two doubles, a homer, four runs scored and two RBIs. He has been on a tear through his last ten games, hitting .308 with three doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs.

    Chase Headley - 3B, San Diego Padres

    Season: .202, 64 G, 22 R, 44 H, 8 2B, 6 HR, 24 RBIs
    Chase Headley played in six games this week (June 26-July 2) for the San Diego Padres. Headley went 4-for-22 with two runs scored and one RBI. Headley saw his batting average rise over the the .200 mark this week. He has had a hit in both games during the month of July.

    Luke Hochevar - SP, Kansas City Royals

    Luke Hochevar underwent Tommy John surgery on March 18, 2014. He will miss the entire 2014 season and is expected to return for the 2015 season.

    (Minors) Season: .255, 37 G, 24 R, 37 H, 5 2B, 10 HR, 26 RBIs
    J.P. Arencibia played in five games this week (June 26-July 2) for the Round Rock Express. He went 6-for-21 with two doubles, two home runs, three runs scored and five RBIs. Arencibia is riding a 6-game hitting streak (June 24-July 2) in which he is 9-for-25 (.360) with two doubles, four homers, six runs scored and seven RBIs.

    Julio Borbon - OF, Norfolk Tides (AAA - Baltimore Orioles)

    Season: .278, 78 G, 44 R, 77 H, 5 2B, 4 3B, 4 HR, 28 RBIs
    Julio Borbon went 7-for-24 with a stolen base, three runs scored and one RBI through seven games this week (June 26-July 2) for the Norfolk Tides. Borbon's week included a five-game stretch in which he went 7-for-20 (June 26-30). He is hitting .303 during his last 10 games.

    Kentrail Davis - OF, Huntsville Stars (AA - Milwaukee Brewers)

    Season: .278, 68 G, 35 R, 68 H, 16 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR, 28 RBIs
    Kentrail Davis had a huge week (June 26-July 2) for the Huntsville Stars. He went 11-for-25 (.440) with three doubles, three runs scored and five RBIs through seven games this week. Davis saw his 9-game hitting streak (June 23-July 1) come to an end last night. During the streak, he was 15-for-32 (.469) with three doubles, seven runs scored and six RBIs.

    Matt Duffy - 3B, Oklahoma City RedHawks (AAA - Houston Astros)

    Season (AAA): .241, 31 G, 13 R, 26 H, 4 2B, 2 3B, 7 HR, 19 RBIs
    Season (AA): .302, 49 G, 23 R, 61 H, 11 2b, 1 3B, 6 HR, 35 RBI
    Matt Duffy had back-to-back-to-back multi-hit games for the Oklahoma City RedHawks this past week (June 26-July 2). Through six games, he went 7-for-25 with a triple, two runs scored and three RBIs.

    Blake Forsythe - C, Midland RockHounds (AA - Oakland Athletics)

    Season: .229, 38 G, 14 R, 30 H, 6 2B, 3 HR, 11 RBIs
    Blake Forsythe went 4-for-15 with a double, one run scored and one RBI through four games this week (June 26-July 2) for the Midland RockHounds. He is 11-for-37 (.297) through his last ten games.

    Zack Godley - RP, Daytona Cubs (A-Advanced - Chicago Cubs)

    Season: 2-1, 5.49 ERA, 14 G, 19.2 IP, 23 H, 17 R, 12 ER, 11 BB, 24 K
    Zack Godley threw 1.0 shutout inning for the Daytona Cubs this week (June 26-July 2). He allowed no runs on one hit, no walks and struck out one. Godley is 1-1 with a 2.51 ERA through his last 10 appearances.

    Steven Gruver - RP, Fort Myers Miracle (A-Advanced - Minnesota Twins)

    Season: 1-5, 3.02 ERA, 26 G, 44.2 IP, 42 H, 18 R, 15 ER, 23 BB, 34 K
    Steven Gruver threw 1.0 shutout inning this week (June 26-July 2) for the Fort Myers Miracle. He allowed no hits, walked one and struck out one.

    Ty'Relle Harris - SP, Bridgeport Bluefish (Independent - Atlantic League)

    Season: 0-6, 6.94 ERA, 8 G, 36.1 IP, 38 H, 34 R, 28 ER, 27 BB, 27 K
    Ty'Relle Harris did not record any innings this week for the Bridgeport Bluefish.

    Deunte Heath - RP, Charlotte Knights (AAA - Chicago White Sox)

    Season: 5-1, 2.39 ERA, 21 G, 60.1 IP, 46 H, 20 R, 16 ER, 28 BB, 67 K
    Deunte Heath started two more games for the Charlotte Knights this week (June 26-July 2). He received a win during his first start of the week (June 25) after tossing 6.0 innings allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out seven. Heath picked up his second win of the week (July 1), after he fired 6.0 shutout innings allowing only one hit and recording ten strikeouts.

    Nick Hernandez - SP, Winnipeg Goldeyes (Independent - American Association)

    Season: 4-0, 3.56 ERA, 8 G, 48.0 IP, 48 H, 19 R, 19 ER, 8 BB, 42 K
    Nick Hernandez earned his fourth win of the season this week for the Winnipeg Goldeyes (June 28). Hernandez threw 7.0 innings allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four.

    Will Maddox - 1B, Connecticut Tigers (A-Short Season - Detroit Tigers)

    Season: .250, 7 G, 5 R, 5 H, 0 2B, 0 HR, 2 RBIs, 2-2 SB
    Will Maddox played in two games during his second week with the Connecticut Tigers (June 26-July 2). He went 1-for-6 with one run scored and two walks for the week.

    Bryan Morgado - RP, Camden Riversharks (Independent - Atlantic League)

    Bryan Morgado did not log any innings this week for the Camden Riversharks.

    Khayyan Norfork - 3B, Potomac Nationals (A-Advanced - Washington Nationals)

    Khayyan Norfork played in five games through the week (June 26-July 2) with the Potomac Nationals. The former Vol had a rough week in which he went 2-for-18 with a triple, one run scored and one RBI. Norfolk's week included a 2-for-4 with a triple, one run scored and one RBI effort (June 29).

    Zach Osborne - SS, Asheville Tourists (A - Colorado Rockies)

    Season: .303, 35 G, 17 R, 33 H, 7 2B, 1 HR, 14 RBIs
    Zach Osborne played in two games this week (June 26-July 2) with the Asheville Tourists. He raised his batting average over the .300 mark by going 2-for-5 with a walk.

    Scott Price - 1B, AZL Giants (Rookie - San Francisco Giants)

    Season: .294, 4 G, 1 R, 5 H, 2 2B, 0 HR, 3 RBIs
    Scott Price made his professional debut on June 27 with the AZL Giants. He went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI during his debut. Price appeared in four games during his first week as a professional. He went 5-for-17 with two doubles, one run scored and three RBIs.

    Matt Ramsey - RP, Montgomery Biscuits (AA - Tampa Bay Rays)

    Season: 3-0, 1.17 ERA, 22 G, 5 SV, 30.2 IP, 12 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 22 BB, 43 K
    Matt Ramsey made two appearances this week (June 26-July 2). He picked up his third win on June 30, by firing 3.0 shutout innings against the Tennessee Smokies. Ramsey allowed no runs on only one hit, while striking out five through 5.1 innings this week.

    Andy Simunic - OF, Gwinnett Braves (AAA - Atlanta Braves)

    Season: .262, 38 G, 11 R, 28 H, 5 2B, 1 HR, 10 RBIs
    Andy Simunic signed a minor league deal with the Atlanta Braves on June 6 after being released by the Houston Astros. He did not appear in any games for the Braves this week (June 26-July 2).

    Taylor Smart - SS, Everett AquaSox (A-Short Season - Seattle Mariners)

    Season: .192, 15 G, 6 R, 10 H, 1 2B, 0 HR, 5 RBIs
    Taylor Smart appeared in four games during his third week (June 26-July 2) with the Everett AquaSox. He had a rough week in which he went 1-for-16 with one run scored and one RBI.

    Aaron Tullo - SP, Camden Riversharks (Independent - Atlantic League)

    Season: 0-3, 16.20 ERA, 4 G, 10.0 IP, 19 H, 18 R, 18 ER, 15 BB, 7 K
    Aaron Tullo did not record any innings this week for the Camden Riversharks.

    Nick Williams - SP, GCL Marlins (Rookie - Miami Marlins)
