R.A. Dickey - SP, Toronto Blue Jays

    R.A. Dickey earned picked up his seventh win Tuesday night (July 8). He fired 7.0 shutout innings, allowing only four hits and striking out five. With the win, Dickey improved to 7-8 with a 3.86 ERA. In his last two starts, he has thrown 15.0 innings allowing only two runs on 10 hits while striking out 11 hitters.

    Yan Gomes - C, Cleveland Indians

    Yan Gomes appeared in five games this week (July 3-9) for the Cleveland Indians. Gomes went 3-for-19 with a double, two homers, two runs scored and three RBIs. He has homered three times in his last ten games.

    Luke Hochevar underwent Tommy John surgery on March 18, 2014. He will miss the entire 2014 season and is expected to return for the 2015 season.

    J.P. Arencibia played in seven games this week (July 3-10) for the Round Rock Express. He went 10-for-28 (.357) with two doubles, two home runs, four runs scored and seven RBIs. Arencibia is riding a 4-game hitting streak (July 6-9) in which he is 7-for-17 (.412) with two doubles, one homer, three runs scored and four RBIs.

    Julio Borbon - OF, Norfolk Tides (AAA - Baltimore Orioles)

    Julio Borbon went 7-for-23 with a double, one stolen base and two runs scored through five games this week (July 3-9) for the Norfolk Tides. Borbon started the week off hot, going 3-for-5 with one run scored on July 3.

    Zack Godley - RP, Daytona Cubs (A-Advanced - Chicago Cubs)

    Zack Godley threw 1.2 innings for the Daytona Cubs this week (July 3-9). He recorded his second save by allowing only one run on three hits, no walks and struck out one.

    Andy Simunic - OF, Gwinnett Braves (AAA - Atlanta Braves)

    Andy Simunic signed a minor league deal with the Atlanta Braves on June 6 after being released by the Houston Astros. He did not appear in any games for the Braves this week (June 26-July 2).

    Taylor Smart - SS, Everett AquaSox (A-Short Season - Seattle Mariners)

    Taylor Smart appeared in five games during this week (July 3-9) with the Everett AquaSox. After a rough week last week, Smart bounced back and went 5-for-19 with a double, one run scored and four RBIs. He had at least one hit in four of the AquaSox five games this week.
