Stewart Earns Team USA Honors

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.  -- Tennessee baseball's Christin Stewart received Honkbal Week Player of the Game honors on Wednesday following his performance in the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team's 8-1 win over the Netherlands at Pim Mulier Stadium.

Stewart went 3-for-3 with one walk and two RBI in the contest, hitting second as Team USA's designated hitter. In his last three starts with Team USA as designated hitter since Saturday, Stewart is 6-for-11 (.545) with three RBI.

On the season, Stewart is hitting at a .390 clip and leads the Collegiate National Team with 23 hits and 10 doubles. His 15 total RBI also ties for best on the club.

Stewart and Team USA will observe a scheduled off day on Thursday before finishing the second half of a round-robin tournament on Friday, as the squad faces Chinese Taipei at 2 p.m. local time (8 a.m. ET).
