Numerous former Tennessee baseball lettermen will return to Knoxville Friday to take part in a full day of events that will be capped by the annual Tennessee Alumni Baseball Game at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. A golf tournament and home run derby are scheduled to precede the game.

Vols head coach Rod Delmonico hosts the annual Food City All-Star Golf Tournament at Willow Creek Golf Club in Knoxville Friday beginning with a breakfast at 7 a.m. Participants include numerous former Vols, including former major leaguers Ed Bailey, Mike DiFelice, Rick Honeycutt, Garth Iorg, Steve Searcy and Mike Smithson.

Spots are still available for the tournament. Entry fees are $250 per golfer. All participants receive a gift pack that includes a windbreaker, sports chair, umbrella and golf balls. To register, call Jeff Burdick at (865) 974-9079.

The day's action moves to Lindsey Nelson Stadium starting at 6 p.m., as a group of former Vols tests its long-ball skills in a home run derby. Participants include current New York Mets catcher Mike DiFelice, current Texas Rangers minor-leaguer Chris Kemp, current Kansas City Royals minor-leaguer Walter Sevilla and possibly others.

The 2006 Tennessee Alumni Baseball Game will follow the home run derby with a host of former Vols taking the field on Rocky Top once again.

The home run derby and alumni game participants will sign autographs for fans at the stadium throughout the evening.
