Woolridge Duo May Be Unique In Hoops History
The father-son duo of Orlando and Renaldo Woolridge may be the only such duo in NCAA Division I history to each play against and defeat the No. 1-ranked team in the country ... While at Notre Dame, Orlando played in four wins over top-ranked teams, beating Marquette in 1977-78, DePaul in 1979-80 and Kentucky and Virginia in 1980-81 ... Orlando made a 17-foot turnaround shot to beat Virginia at the buzzer and had 12 points and nine rebounds in that game, similar to the 14 points and 8 rebounds his son, Renaldo, had against Kansas on Jan. 10, 2010.
