Stokes scored the first bucket of the game, a layup at the 19:39 mark of the first half.
Vandy got on the board at the 13:13 mark when James Siakam sunk two free throws.
Trae Golden was the first player to sub in for UT, checkin in at the 17:01 mark for Armani Moore3.
BACK-TO-BACK 1-POINT WINS The last time UT had back-to-back 1-point wins as in the 1962-63 season. UT beat Denver 59-58 on Dec. 29, 1962, and defeated Florida State 67-66 on Jan. 2, 1963.
SUPER STOKES Jarnell Stokes had 19 points and 11 boards to record his sixth double-double of the season and eighth of his career.
Stokes was 8-of-12 from the field, tying his season-high in field goals made. He previously had eight against UNC Asheville.
His 11 rebounds marked the sixth time this season that he has recorded double-digit boards.
STARTING THE GAME ON FIRE Tennessee stormed out of the gate to a 12-0 start in the first 6:47 of play.
Jarnell Stokes was a beast for UT during that stretch, scoring seven pionts on 3-of-4 shooting with five boards and two assists.
BLOCK PARTY The Vols totaled seven blocks in the game.
Jarnell Stokes led the team with three blocks. Josh Richardson, Jordan McRae, Armani Moore and Kenny Hall also registered swats in the win.
Tennessee is 6-1 this season when registering five blocks or more with wins over Kennesaw State, Oakland, Western Carolina, Xavier and Alabama (Jan. 26). The lone loss when UT has had five blocks was against Memphis.
BIG DUNKS In Tennessee's dominance early in the game, Jarnell Stokes had a dunk at the 17:48 mark to give UT a 4-0 lead.
With 13:43 left in the second half, Stokes had an assist on alley-oop from the right corner to a flying Derek Reese, extending UT's lead to 38-32.
MCBEE FOR 3! Skylar McBee had three big 3-pointers in the game, going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. He finishe the game with 10 points.
The Vols are 3-0 this season when McBee has three or more 3-pointers in a game. He had four in UT's win over Kennesaw State, three in the win over UMass and four in the win over Presbyterian.
LOPEZ TONIGHT Sophomore guard Brandon Lopez recorded a career-high three assists in 10 minutes off the bench Tuesday night.
Lopez also tied his career high with two rebounds.
HOME COOKIN' Tennessee improved to 9-2 at home with the win

UP NEXT The Vols hit the road, playing at Arkansas on Feb. 2 at 4 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2. Tennessee returns to Thompson-Boling Arena on Feb. 6 to host Georgia at 8 p.m.
Last season, Tennessee took a 73-62 win over Georgia on Feb. 4, 2012, in Knoxville.
