Tennessee Head Coach Bruce Pearl: "This is a tale of two halves. We played with great passion and energy in the first half. We looked like Tennessee basketball.
"But in the second half, it became more of a half-court game. We need to have more than only Bobby Maze at the point. Where is the chemistry going to be with this team? It was good to see Renaldo Woolridge come out as a starter and play with such determination and effort. Brian Williams was injured in our pregame warmups, and right now, we do not yet know his status. But J.P. Prince is ahead of prognosis.
"Give Tusculum credit because they came out and played hard in the second half, just like we knew they would.
"This is a whole new team we have out there. We have a chance to be OK, but we have a long ways to go. We played a lot better tonight than we have in the previous game. We will have to be a lot better than we were tonight to beat Chattanooga next Saturday night at 7."
Tusculum Head Coach Jim Boone: "I thought Tennessee just came out with a ton of energy. They were just so quick and so aggressive. It is just impossible for us to replicate that in practice. I think they really caught us back on our heels, and our kids were - I do not think we were intimidated, but we were awestruck by the entire atmosphere.
"For us to come back in the second half and play, I thought we were a lot tougher and we did a better job of running our offense. We got better shots and were more patient. This is really good for our team, and hopefully, it will make us a better team down the road."
