Antonio Barton, senior transfer from Memphis drew his first start for the Vols after coming off the bench in the season opener at Xavier.
Barton started 31 games as a member of the Tigers.
CHARITY STRIPE The Vols began the game vs. USC Upstate 6-of-12 from the free throw line, but quickly changed their habits finished the game 23-of-24.
Tennessee drew 23 Upstate fouls on the night garnering 29 points while USC upstate tallied just 11 points off of free throws.
DOUBLE-DIGIT DEFICIT TO VICTORY The Vols overcame a 13-point deficit (23-36, 5:28 1st)
Last season the Vols over came exactly 10-point deficits three times en route to a victory Western Carolina (12/21/12)
The win tonight was the largest margin overcome since trailing by 15 at LSU on 2/29/12, a 74-69 overtime victory.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE SUCCESS Jarnell Stokes registered his 19th career double-double with 17 points and a career-high tying 18 rebounds.
Stokes' notched his 10th rebound of the night diving for the ball in the corner, feeding it down the court and turning it into a Antonio Barton 3-point field goal that gave the Vols their first lead since 9-8 at 16:10 in the first half.
Also netting a double-double was Jeronne Maymon who finished the game with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The double-double was the first for Maymon since tallying 11 points and 17 rebounds against Ole Miss in the 2012 SEC Championships
The last time two Vols recorded double-doubles was on Feb. 13, 2013 when Jordan McRae (14 pts, 11 rebs) and Jarnell Stokes (17 pts, 10 rebs) achieved the feat.
The game marked the first time that Stokes and Maymon have recorded a double-double in the same game.
turNOvers The Vols finished the game with just five turnovers, only three in the second half
The five turnovers were the least since Tennessee notched just five turnovers against Dayton on Feb. 15, 1992.
FIRST CAREER FIRSTS Robert Hubbs III got his first career points halfway through the first half on a three-point basekt that helped the Vols to a 6-0 run.
UP NEXT Tennessee remains at home Monday night for a meeting with The Citadel on FSN at 7 p.m.
The game will be the middle of a three-game home stand for the Vols which will conclude vs. Tennessee State on Nov. 22.
