(On the game)
"It was a really good win against an athletic team. A team that's picked to finish 4th in the Atlantic-10. A team that doesn't score anything less than 70 points a night."
"This type of game is hard when you don't have a lot of prep time and coming off of an emotional loss. That team we saw against Oklahoma State is a Tennessee team I'm not accustomed to seeing. I don't want to see that again. I thought our guys did a tremendous job of bouncing back."
(On Trae Golden)
"I thought he did a great job. I think this is the best job Trae has done against the press while playing at Tennessee. We talk about it all the time and work on it everyday in practice... Keep the ball alive the whole time. Don't pass it or pick up your dribble unless you have to. He kept the ball alive and made plays. He is the one guy that can really make plays like that and break a defense down. He did a great job doing it."
(On Jordan McRae)
"Jordan is a scorer. He can score the ball, he can make shots and he can do a lot of things for us. The key with him is to stay aggressive and being assertive offensively. More importantly, doing a solid job on the defensive side of the ball. If he keeps doing those things, he'll be just fine."
(On Jarnell Stokes)
"I thought he did a great job setting the tone and being aggressive. One thing about Jarnell is he is a pretty good face up player. You look at his size and stats and think he is a back to the basket player, but he is a guy that can face up and make plays off the dribble. I thought he did a really good job. My job as a coach is to put him in position to make plays."
(On the win tonight and preparation for Oakland)
"It was a great win tonight. Any time you can get a win, it's good. It's a great win against a NCAA caliber team. You have to win these games then be able to move on to the next one. I told our guys to celebrate tonight, but not too hard, and we will get on out of here tomorrow and go home to get ready for Oakland."
(On preparing for this UMass team)
"We didn't even watch film on them. We watched film of our last game against Oklahoma State. I told our guys we have to play better. I was just so upset about the way we played. I didn't like the way we competed."
(On Josh Richardson)
"Josh is a talented player. Before this game, I don't think he was defending at the level he is capable of, because he is a defensive stopper. He was loose on defense the previous game... gambling, not being assertive and not boxing out. On offense, he is a slasher. That's Josh Richardson's game... rebounding, dunking and slashing. We need him to be aggressive and get to that rim."
(On the game against UMass)
"I think it was, overall, a good team win. We defended much better. I feel like last game I had a bad taste in my mouth after we lost. I feel like we didn't play Tennessee basketball. If we would have hit the shots we hit today, I think we would've won the last game and still be playing tonight."
(On his effort tonight)
"Coach told me I should try to score the ball more. Even if I get double teamed, I still should look to score. I feel like I left a lot of missed free throws out there. I got to make free throws. Overall, I think it was a great team win."
(On having days off for Thanksgiving)
"I like playing games, but it will definitely help. We have some issues to adjust especially on the defensive end. I feel like I can fine tune my offense a little more, too. I really need to work on my free throws."
