TENNESSEE TIDBITS In the third meeting betweent the two teams, the Vols are now 1-2 against Wichita State. They earned their first victory over the Shockers.
The Vols handed No. 23 Wichita State its first loss of the season.
This is the first meeting between the two teams that came with a home court advantage.
Tennessee is now 6-7 (.462) against Missouri Valley Conference Teams.
UT is 6-3 vs. teams ranked 23rd in the AP Poll.
The Vols are now 1-1 against ranked teams in 2012.
Martin is now 4-6 against ranked opponents during his tenure at Tennessee and 4-8 all-time (0-2) at Missouri State including a loss to Tennessee.

FOR STARTERS The Vols kept the same starting rotation for the eighth game this season, G Trae Golden, G Skyler McBee, F Josh Richardson, F Jarnell Stokes and C Kenny Hall.
TOUGH D The Vols held the Shockers to no points for a 2:52 stretch at the end of the game and finished the game out on a 10-1 run after being tied at 59-all with 3:29 left.
The The Vols' three-point defense entering the game was .237, topping the SEC and ranking sixth nationally. Tonight the Vols allowed 30 % free throw shooting (6-of-20)

YEMI MAKAN-RULE-A Entering the contest with Wichita State, Yemi Makanjoula was averaging 1.7 points per game with a season high of five points against UMass (Puerto Rico Tip Off)
Makanjoula finished the game with nine points including five in the first half agianst the Shockers.
Yemi was also strong on the glass taking down a season-high and eight rebounds (also a team-high) for the Vols, three on offense and five on defense.
#0 also blocked one Shocker shot, tying his season-high also set at UMass.
Makanjoula's career highs stand at 18 for points and 11 for rebounds against The Citadel last season (12/29/11).
CLEAN SHAVEN, MORE AMAZIN' After getting rid of the beard that donned a twitter handle, Trae Golden put up a season-high 25 points against the Shockers.
The 25 points were the seventh time in his career that he netted over 20 points, first this season and the 14th time that he led the Vols in scoring, fourth time this year.
Golden added five assists and two rebounds and was 13-of-16 from the free throw line on the night.
Golden's 16 free throw attempts were a career best (previous 11 at Florida 2/11/12) and his 13 free throws made were also a career-high (previous 9 twice, last at LSU 2/29/12).
Golden has been to the free throw line at least 10 times a game for the third game this season.
TIS THE SEASON - HIGHS Jordan McRae got in on the season high action putting up a season best 17 points, helped out by perfect 8-for-8 shooting from the charity stripe.
TAKING CHARGE, CHANGING MOMENTUM Sophomore Josh Richardson drew a charge with three and a half minutes remaining and the score tied at 59-all. It was his first charge drawn this season and the second of his career.
The drawn charge led to a 2:52 scoring drought for the Shockers who finally added another point to their total with a free throw at 1:03.
During that stretch the Vols knocked down 7-of-8 free throws including two by Kenny Hall (his first this season with less than 4 minutes in the game), four by Trae Golden who is now 15-of-18 on the season from the free throw line with less than 4 left in the game and a free throw from Yemi Makanjoula. (1-2 on the year in final 4)
The Vols made Wichita State turn the ball over five times, including two missed three pointers and a steal by Skylar McBee.
Jordan McRae and Golden added another three points via the charity stripe to close the game out with a win. McRae is 5-of-6 on the year shooting free throws in the final four.
UP NEXT The Vols will remain at home when they take on Presbyterian on December 18 at Thompson-Boling Arena at 7 p.m.

Tennessee earned its first win of the season when trailing (48-50) with 10 minutes remaining in the game.
