THE GAME

• The Vols improve to 4-0 all-time vs. Morehead State with all of the games coming in Knoxville
• The victory prevented Tennessee's first three-game losing streak since last January (first three SEC games of 2013).
• The Vols are now 52-2 all-time record against current members of the Ohio Valley Conference.
• The win gives Cuonzo Martin a 5-1 head coaching record against current members of the Ohio Valley Conference.

FOR STARTERS

• Today's starters: F Josh Richardson, G Antonio Barton, F Jarnell Stokes, F Jeronne Maymon, G Jordan McCrae, the ninth time this season the Vols went with this lineup.
• Stokes made his 52nd consecutive start, the longest streak on the team

GETTING INTO THE GAME

• Sophomore guard Derek Reese saw his first game action of the regular season when he checked into the game in the first half. Reese saw action in the Vols two exhibition games.
• Reese finished with a career-high 12 points, recording his first career double-double taking down 10 rebounds
• Also making his season debut was Brandon Lopez at the end of the second half

RUNNING TO THE VICTORY

• The Vols opened the second half on a 13-0 run to break open the lead to 51-30
• Coupled with an 11-0 run in the middle of the first half, the Vols never trailed after the 18:41 mark in the first half

 

 

SEASON HIGH FOR J RICH

Josh Richardson set a season high 19 points vs. the Eagles on Monday night in 39 minutes of action
• Richardson was just one point shy of his career high of 20 points set last season vs. Memphis on Jan. 4, 2013
• Richardson was 8-of-13 shooting with 8 rebounds and 2 assists

ITS A TEAM GAME

• The unselfish Vols dished out a season-high 20 assists on the night led by Jordan McRae who had five
• The 20 assists were the most by the Vols since dishing out 21 vs. UNC Greensboro on Nov. 11, 2011
• The Vols finished the night with 52.5 % field goal shooting (32-of-61)
• The 11 blocks by the Vols is also a season high and the highest in the Martin era.
• The 11 blocks also marked in a tie for the fifth most in Tennessee history and were the most blocks since Tennessee had 11 at Georgia on March 4, 2000
• This is the seventh time in his career that Jordan McRae has blocked at least three shots in a game, McRae finished with three. The Vols are unbeaten when he does so.

AT THE HALF

• The Vols lead 41-30 at the half, Tennessee improves to 6-1 on the season when leading at the half.
• In his career, Cuonzo Martin is now 34-7 when leading at the half
