UT and Auburn have split last six meetings

  • 2008-09 marks Tennessee's 100th season of varsity basketball. A season-long centennial celebration includes the selection of a Tennessee Basketball All-Century Team. Ballots are available in the Thompson-Boling Arena concourse for all home games.
  • In its last outing, Tennessee improved to 3-0 in SEC road games with a 74-72 win at Arkansas Wednesday. Bobby Maze nailed a go-ahead jumper with 5.4 seconds left, and Wayne Chism scored 22.
  • Tennessee under coach Bruce Pearl owns a 20-5 (.800) record in the month of February.
  • Auburn is one of only two SEC schools at which Pearl has yet to record a win (Ole Miss is the other).

The Vols used a 24-5 run in the first half to take a 46-20 lead at the half ... A Rasheem Barrett field goal with one minute left in the first half ended a nine-minute drought without a field goal by the Tigers ... A Chris Lofton 3-pointer with 9:02 left in the game gave the Vols their biggest lead at 74-43 ... With a 26-point lead with less than six minutes left, Tennessee began playing its reserves, but the Tigers went on a 15-0 run to cut the lead to 83-69 ...
