With regular-season Southeastern Conference action concluding Saturday, the bracket has been set for next week's SEC Tournament in Nashville.
Tennessee (16-15, 8-10 SEC) has earned the No. 9 seed and will begin tournament play Thursday against No. 8-seeded Georgia (18-13, 9-9 SEC) at Bridgestone Arena. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. ET / Noon CT on the SEC Network.
The Volunteers lost to Georgia in the regular season, dropping a 76-75 thriller in Knoxville on Feb. 11. SEC All-Freshman Team candidate Grant Williams led the Big Orange with a career-high-tying 30 points, but Bulldogs senior J.J. Frazier took the game over in the second half, and savvy point guard's 29 points and six assists lifted UGA to a one-point win.
Georgia has won each of the last three meetings.
With a win Thursday, Tennessee would advance to Friday's quarterfinal round, where it would meet top-seeded Kentucky at 1 p.m. ET / Noon CT. The SEC Champion Wildcats went 16-2 in league play, with one of those losses coming against the Vols in Knoxville. Kentucky managed a regular-season split with UT by posting a Valentine's Day victory in Lexington.
Tennessee has already played a game in Bridgestone Arena this season, falling to Gonzaga, 86-76, in the neutral-site "Battle on Broadway" on Dec. 18.
Tickets for the SEC Tournament are sold out.
