Tennessee basketball players Jarnell Stokes and Jordan McRae continue to garner honors and awards for their outstanding efforts on the hardwood this season. The pair earned inclusion on the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) All-District 21 teams Wednesday.
The NABC honors - first-team for Stokes, second-team for McRae - come just one day after both Vols were named first-team All-SEC selections and USBWA All-District IV performers.
NABC District 21 includes all 14 SEC schools.
The 2014 NABC All-District teams were selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC. The 252 student-athletes, from 25 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Coaches' Division I All-America teams.
Stokes averaged a double-double in SEC play this season (15.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg). In conference games, he led the league in field-goal percentage (.567), total rebounding (11.1 rpg) and offensive rebounding (4.4 orpg).
A senior guard from Midway, Ga., McRae posted eight 20-point game and two 30-point games in SEC play this season. His 18.8 points in league games ranked fifth in the conference. In addition to being Tennessee's top scorer in SEC play, he also leads the Vols in 3-point shooting (.395, sixth in the SEC) and assists (2.6 apg).
