This is the second of a multi-part series highlighting the new additions to the Tennessee men's basketball team. In this edition of "Hello My Name Is...", Vol hoops chat with freshman Robert Hubbs III.
Q: You come from a small town in West Tennessee. Talk about the sense of pride you have in representing your community back home. A: "It feels great to represent my hometown of Newbern, Tenn. It definitely puts a lot of pressure on me... coming to a big Division-I school and all. But it's something I enjoy."
Q: You had a very impressive list of colleges who gave you scholarship offers. What was the No. 1 reason that you chose to become a Vol? A: "Tennessee was just a perfect fit for me and for my family. With me coming here and staying in-state, I think it says a lot. It's also nice to not play too far from home."
Q: Do you have any famous contacts in your phone? A: "Hmm. Well I have Tobias Harris' number. I think that's pretty good."
Q: I'm sure you've had a chance to play some pickup basketball with the other guys on the team. What do you think of the overall talent level Tennessee will have on its roster next season? A: "The talent level is going to be extremely high next season. Coming into the fall, we are going to be solid at every position and have depth. So we have a chance to do great things."
Q: Rising senior Jordan McRae developed "Orange Mamba" as a nickname last season. Do you have any nicknames? A: "I don't have a nickname. (laughs) But I love Jordan's `Orange Mamba' nickname. That fits him perfect. We'll work on mine."
Q: Michael Jordan - is he the greatest to ever play the game? Why?
A: "Of course MJ is the greatest. The man could do anything. He played almost every position, except the post. He just did some incredible things."
Q: If you could script your first big play as a Vol in Thompson-Boling Arena, describe what would happen. A: "I would probably say I would like to do throw down a windmill dunk on a fastbreak or something like that."
Q: You're pretty active on Twitter and Instagram. What's the craziest thing a fan ever said to you on social media during your recruitment? A: "Honestly, there have been a lot of crazy ones. So many that I can't even remember a good one right now."
Q: Who is your "guilty pleasure" artist on your iPod or smartphone? A: (laughs) "I probably would say Waka Flocka."
Q: What's your favorite movie? A: "Well I went and saw The Purge last night. It was a pretty good scary movie."
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life? A: "My dad. He has taught me everything I know. He also introduced me to the game of basketball and is a big reason why I'm here today."
Q: If you could hang out for a night with any three people in history, who would you chose? A: "Let's see. I would have to go with Floyd Mayweather, Kobe Bryant and... probably Jay-Z."
