Arrival in Florence
After spending the first three days of its 10-day, four-game exhibition tour of Italy in Rome, the Tennessee basketball team arrived in Florence Thursday just after 1 p.m. local time.
Fresh off an 83-32 win over All-Star Italy Wednesday night, the Volunteers have Thursday evening to explore Florence.
The team is staying at the charming Grand Hotel Baglione directly in the heart of town, with gorgeous window views of Florence's beautiful Basilica of St. Mary of the Flower, also commonly known as "Il Duomo."
As he did in Rome, UT professor Dr. Robert Bast plans on leading guided walks of the city's sights, many of which the team learned about over the past several weeks as part of its Foreign Study course.
On Friday morning, the Vols will tour Il Duomo as well as the Accademia Gallery, which houses Michelangelo's famous marble sculpture of David.
On Friday at 2 p.m. ET, Tennessee plays its second game of the tour, a clash with Montenegro Selezione in the small town of Montecatini.
As always, be sure to follow @Vol_Hoops on Twitter for the latest updates and pictures from Tennessee's tour of Italy.
