Coach's Evaluation:

"At this point in time, Josh has made the biggest stride on the team from where he was last year. He has dominated several practices. He is shooting the ball at a high clip from 3-point range, and his mid-range pull-up is probably his best weapon. But he's also learned how to use his length and athleticism to be more productive. He is attacking more aggressively off the dribble and finishing in a variety of ways at the rim. We also feel he can be one of the premier defensive stoppers in the SEC. He's a high-energy guy that comes to compete every day. The work he has put in during the offseason is really showing."

Echoes of the Past:

Fred Jenkins (1984-87)

Fred Jenkins (1984-87)

"Both are great athletes and competitors - versatile athletes with similar size. Neither player is a great shooter, but both possess the ability to score in transition and around the basket. Both are unselfish and excellent at setting up teammates after penetration by drawing the defense. Both are better than average ball handlers, and because of that they can play all three positions along the perimeter. Their biggest attribute could be their defense. Size and quickness give Josh the ability to be a lockdown defender. Fred was a consistent double-figure scorer all four years at Tennessee. Josh has the ability to score in double figures as well if he improves his outside shooting."
