It's officially "Basketball Time in Tennessee!" With the Vols finishing exhibition play, it's also time for UT students to officially join the best student section in the nation - the Rocky Top Rowdies.

The "Rocky Top Rowdies" are Tennessee's sixth man, and their impact on games at Thompson-Boling Arena is powerful.

"The Rowdies are great," Vols point guard Trae Golden said. "A loud student section always gets me pumped up and ready to play. I can't wait to hit a three and see them go crazy."

For the 2012-13 season, the Rowdies are rolling out some new benefits and exclusive deals. Highlights include:

• $5 membership fee
• Exclusive Rocky Top Rowdies t-shirt
• Access to early admission to games with Rowdies t-shirt
• Private events for RTR members only
• Chance to participate in promotional contests
• Promotional giveaways
• Updates on Tennessee basketball
