Bowl Participation - Wrap-ups
TENNESSEE 13
PENN STATE 31

ORLANDO (Jan. 1, 1994) - Tennessee jumped to a 10-0 lead on its first two offensive series, but Penn State rallied from a 13-10 deficit late in the first half with 21 unanswered points to take a 31-13 decision in the 48th annual Florida Citrus Bowl.

Tennessee moved to a field goal on its first possession, one of two made by John Becksvoort on the day. The Vols scored a touchdown on their second foray into Penn State territory on a 19-yard pass from Heath Shuler to Cory Fleming, but could add only a Citrus Bowl record 50-yard field goal by Becksvoort the rest of the afternoon.

Penn State scored to take the lead for good just before halftime and added another score off a sustained drive after the opening kickoff of the second half to assume control of the game.

Charlie Garner rushed 16 times for 89 yards and Fleming caught seven passes for 101 yards. The Vols finished with a 9-2-1 overall record.
