Shawn Bryson, a native of Franklin, N.C., was a senior and a captain in 1998. A starter in all 13 games, he produced 367 yards of offense and scored five touchdowns from the fullback position. He lettered four seasons on Rocky Top before moving on to the NFL.
A third-round selection in the 1999 NFL Draft by the Bills, he went on to play seven seasons in the league with the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. He rushed for over 2,000 yards and caught more than 1,300 yards worth of passes during those years.
