Tennessee head athletic trainer Jason McVeigh reports that offensive tackle Eric Young underwent successful arthroscopic shoulder surgery Friday afternoon at UT Medical Center.

The junior from Union, S.C., started all 13 games this season for the Vols and has appeared in 25 career games. His surgery was performed by Drs. Greg Mathien and Russell Betcher, team orthopedists from the Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic, and Young's status for spring practice is yet to be determined.

McVeigh says that five other Tennessee footballers are scheduled to undergo surgeries this Monday to correct injuries sustained during the season.

Sophomore defensive end Robert Ayers (left shoulder) and sophomore defensive tackle Walter Fisher (left shoulder) have surgeries slated, while freshman tailback Montario Hardesty (right knee), freshman center Josh McNeil (left knee) and junior defensive end Xavier Mitchell (left shoulder) are slated for arthroscopic procedures.
