KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee announced today that director of football operations Brad Pendergrass is resigning his position. Pendergrass has served the last four seasons from 2010-13 in this role for the UT football program.
"It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to resign from my position on the football staff here at Tennessee," said Pendergrass. "I am very appreciative of the experiences this great university has afforded me, and I look forward to watching the successes that lie ahead on many fronts. I would like to thank Dave Hart, Butch Jones, and many others for their support and advice in this decision, and I look forward to new opportunities for professional and personal growth."
Pendergrass, a 1998 UT graduate, had previously spent 10 seasons with the Vols from 1994-2003 in a variety of roles, including student manager, graduate assistant for the coaching staff and in football operations, and full-time recruiting assistant. He worked five seasons as coordinator of football operations and eventually assistant athletics director for football operations at Mississippi State from 2004-08 and also spent one year in Wisconsin (2009) as the Badgers' director of football operations.
"I would like to personally thank Brad for all of his efforts and contributions to Tennessee football," said head football coach Butch Jones. "We wish him much success in the future, and Brad will always be a Vol for Life."
