GREENVILLE, S.C. - Three Vols will take part in the 2014 College All Star Bowl on February 14, 2014. Defensive linemen Corey Miller and Marlon Walls and long snapper J.R. Carr will represent Tennessee at the game.
The game will be held at Palladin Stadium on the campus of Furman University and will be broadcast live at 6 p.m. on the CBS Sports Network.
This year, the College All Star Bowl will feature the Nationals, led by Clemson National Champion Head Coach Danny Ford, and the Americans, led by College Football Hall of Fame Head Coach Willie Jeffries of South Carolina State.
Carr (53) will be on the American team while Miller (55) and Walls (58) will represent the Nationals.
Carr served as the Vols' long snapper in all 24 games over his junior and senior seasons, snapping on every kick and punt. He also posted five tackles on special teams coverage as a senior in 2013.
Miller finished his Tennessee career on a high note breaking a 30-year old Tennessee sack record held by the Minister of Defense Reggie White when he recorded 4.5 sacks against Kentucky in the final game of his UT career.
Miller ended his senior season with 6.5 sacks, the most for any Vol since Parys Haralson, now of the New Orleans Saints had 8.5 and Hall had 7.0 in 2005. He also recorded a career-high 36 tackles, including a career-best seven against Kentucky.
Walls had a strong year on the defensive line playing in 11 games. Of his 20 tackles, 7.5 were for a loss including 4.5 sacks. Walls' sack total was second-best on the Vols in 2013 and his TFL total was third.
Walls had the best game of his career in the Vols' upset of #11 South Carolina as he posted 2.5 sacks. In his career, Walls played in 40 games, making 57 tackles with 11.5 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks.
