On Saturday, February 23, some of the Vol Football team headed to the Obed Wild and Scenic River State Park for community service learning.
The environmental service trip was a part of Environmental Geology class that A.J. Johnson, Lemond Johnson, Alton Howard, Justin King, Paul Harris, Vincent Dallas, Jalen Reeves-Maybin and Danny O'Brien are all taking this semester.
The athletes performed service at Obed Wild and Scenic River, a state park near Wartburg, Tenn. at the Alley Ford Cumberland Trail.
The team worked with the Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning on "trail work" which included routine trail maintenance like cleaning out clogged water bars, removing gown logs and limbs, brushing the area along the trail and digging out the trail where it was eroded.
