VOLS HOST EDAMERICA ORANGE AND WHITE GAME AND FANS DAY SATURDAY
March 28, 2007 Tennessee wraps up its 2007 spring practice Saturday with the annual Edamerica Orange and White Game, slated for a 2 p.m. Eastern time kickoff at Neyland Stadium.This year, fans voting on the UTsports.com Web site are helping select the game's starting lineups and first offensive play. More than 1,500 votes have been recorded and the results will be determined later this week. As a show of fan appreciation, admission to the game is free and festivities begin with a Vol Walk at 11:30 a.m. along the normal game-day route. At noon, Fans Day returns to the stadium after a one-year relocation because of construction. Fans Day includes autograph sessions with the football team members on the stadium field. Entries to the stadium this year are gates 13, 20, 21 and 25. The first 7,500 fans through the gates receive a free fan pack. In the event of rain, autographs still are available underneath the grandstands through Gate 21A. Neyland Stadium gates open at 11:45 a.m. For the game, head coach Phillip Fulmer is splitting the squad into two teams. The White team will be quarterbacked by Jonathan Crompton and Alex Trent and consist of the No. 1 offense and No. 2 defense. Any points accumulated by that team's offense or defense will be awarded to the White team on the scoreboard. The Orange team will be quarterbacked by Nick Stephens and Dylan Dickey and consist of the No. 2 offense and No. 1 defense. Any points accumulated by that team's offense or defense will be awarded to the Orange team on the scoreboard. Following the Edamerica Orange and White Game, Tennessee's baseball Vols take on Arkansas at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
All university event parking lots are available with the exception of Lot 9 or the G10 garage, which are reserved parking. Additional Information Fans attending the Edamerica Orange and White Game will be asked to observe many of the same security measures used at Neyland Stadium last fall. Large items and backpacks will not be allowed in the stadium, and all parcels are subject to inspection. Parents with infants will be permitted to bring diaper bags. Keeping with current stadium policy, still photographic cameras will be permitted. Camera cases may be searched, and all fans are subject to screening before entering the stadium. The East Tennessee Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame has its 2007 Awards Brunch set for Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Foundry in Knoxville. Primary awards to be presented are the Gen. Robert R. Neyland Trophy to John Robinson and the Distinguished American Award to Lester McClain. In addition, amateur football awards will be presented to Ernie Bowles, Buck Coatney, David Meske, George Quarles and Gary Rankin.
