Hood Named To NFF Hampshire Honor Society

    NEW YORK -- Tennessee's Daniel Hood was named to the 2014 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society. Hood was honored for maintaining a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout his college career.

    A four-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, Hood played in 42 games in his Vols career making 35 tackles as he played on both the defensive and offensive lines.

    As a senior, Hood started all 12 games and made 20 tackles and had three quarterback hurries with three passes defended including first-career interception at nose tackle. He had his first-career interception in opener vs. Austin Peay (8/31), also batted down a pass and recorded two tackles with a TFL in start. Hood added career-high four tackles including a half TFL and two quarterback hurries vs. #11 South Carolina (10/19).
