Tennessee's annual September showdown against Florida has been pegged for a 3:30 p.m. Eastern time kickoff on CBS Sports, the league office announced Wednesday.
The Vols visit Gainesville on Sept. 15 after opening the 2007 season two weeks earlier at California in a 5 p.m. Pacific time (8 p.m. Eastern) kickoff. ABC Sports is carrying that telecast. Tennessee's home opener is Sept. 8 against Southern Mississippi, with a start time yet to be determined.
The Southeastern Conference also announced Wednesday that this year's Dec. 1 championship game at the Georgia Dome is moving to a 4 p.m. kickoff. It marks the earliest start time since 1994, which was the game's first year in Atlanta after a two-year stint in Birmingham.
