JONES: Open Practice Aug 16, gates open at 6:00 with free parking.— Tennessee Football (@Vol_Football) July 31, 2014
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- What started as the brainchild of Peyton Manning will happen once again as Butch Jones will lead the Vols in a public open practice on Aug. 16 at Neyland Stadium. Gates open at 6 p.m., there will be free admission and free parking.
"We will hold an open practice on Saturday August 16," said Jones. "The gates will open at 6 p.m. with practice starting at 7. As big as anything else, there will be free parking.
"We need to create a game-like atmosphere for our football team, and we are going to try and put them in some pressure situations, some live game repetitions and see how they perform in front of our great fan base. Again, that will be August 16."
Last year, the Vols held an open practice in front of 39,000 fans in a driving rain storm at Neyland.
