Why I Wore the Number
Kevin Zurcher
Wide Receiver (1988-89)
"When the number 13 jersey was given to me, some people may have thought wearing it might have been unlucky, but I never felt that way. As a walk-on punter and then wide receiver, I knew how lucky and truly honored I really was to play for UT. The number 13 always reminds me of my time as a Vol, playing for great coaches and with great teammates and friends. I'm very proud to be a part of UT's football history."
Why I Wore the Number
Terry Fair
Defensive Back (1994-97)
"I wanted number 12 or 4, but was given number 31 when I got to UT. I vowed not to wear it so James Smith traded number 13 to me for 31."
